There is extensive accounts on this website...I am going to check to see if they mention Adele Davis.
Is her alias, Dunlap?thehealingroomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07715069143545611768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23226602.post-54137631170507819422007-05-26T19:07:00.000-04:002007-05-26T19:07:00.000-04:00Mister anchovy, thought you might enjoy this one.G...Mister anchovy, thought you might enjoy this one.

Gardenia, what a wonderful recollection and thank you for sharing it. I take the idea of "chemical christianity" as meaning that the effects of LSD made Adele Davis feel MORE Christian. I think the sense of well being that you describe, the "holy" feeling is exactly what Davis is referring to...she is saying that it is a spiritual thing to feel as carefree as a bike ride through sunflower feilds. She is saying that being high on LSD is a free path to prayer or closeness to being in Christconsciousness.

Great comment Gardenia...wonderful!Candy Minxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07350752657678863378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23226602.post-15394651794096682572007-05-26T16:18:00.000-04:002007-05-26T16:18:00.000-04:00When I raised my older children, Adelle Davis' boo...When I raised my older children, Adelle Davis' book on having healthy children was my Bible! They thought cold cereal belonged to "rich people" only!

And LSD - I was looking for God at the time without knowing it. What I found during that particular period was a brilliant clarity despite the dangers (perhaps) therein. I remember riding a bicycle through a field of sunflowers and it was a "holy" experience. It was like riding through a Van Gogh painting.

I realized that there are depths of our brains we'll never get to on this planet, that our beings and plants and oceans and creatures and ideas that are on this earth, all are woven together in a beautiful mosiac, that there are things that are so deep, so mystical we will never know them all on this plane.

Also I saw clearly my life from a distance and it changed my thinking about my life and relationships and past.

Ah, those were the years.

Anyway, I don't understand the term Chemical Christianity - I understand spiritual poverty. Mostly I understand searching.

Interesting post.....well, they all are!Gardeniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06233358355888022857noreply@blogger.com
