we have very, very intelligent raccoons here at anchovy headquarters...they eat brass defcon chicken wire for breakfast...last year they destroyed, landlocked, chewed up no less than 3 pumps....by the way, the plum tree was diseased and dying and I took it down in the fall...fortunately that big red Japanese Maple has been growing and will become the dominant tree in the garden.
