24/7 In The Hood

I took this about 6:30 this morning on my cell phone. You kind of have to click on the picture to see inside the diner, and appreciate the scale.

I lived 2 doors west of the diner grill for 2 or 3 years. The exhaust fans blew up & basically straight into my kitchen window.

Made no difference if you wanted to eat or not - in the summer w/ the window open you ALWAYS wanted to eat.

Plus it was fantastic being able to stumble or crawl the 40 feet for late night drunk munchies.

The fav of one of my buddies was a double cheeseburger w/ bacon and a fried egg on top.

And talk about entertainment! Man, the cabbies used to hangout, load up on coffee, smoke their brains out & complain about drunken frat/sorority kids they had to deal with ... ahhhhh memmm-mor-eeeeez.

Nice pic. Is the Diner Grill one of those places that serves breakfast any time of the day?

Mr.A, thanks!

D, yep we think about you every time we walk by because Stagg says you lived next door. We wondered if you might see this pic. The cabbies still stop here. It must have been very handy for a young artist living so close because you can barely make food at home for cheaper.

Malcolm, brekkie all day long is right. It appears to be a trailer converted into a diner, but it's actually an old white-washed train car!
