When I took this test back in the summer, my blog was rated R. I find it hard to believe that it is now a G. I noticed that your blog was rated R at first, but then jumped to NC-17.

I wonder if blog ratings are like video game ratings? I'm confident that no self-respecting 14 year old gamer would play anything that wasn't totally restricted. Maybe posting this rating will bring an influx of teens to your blog.

Like most rating systems though, it keys on superficial things, like the presence of particular words, and doesn't consider context.

If mine were a movie, I wouldn't let anyone see it who insisted on eating popcorn or any noisy snack.

I'm laughing - at the above comments. Hmmmm....I'm sure mine is G except maybe for some political unrest.

Malcolm I think the search engine on the program takes a while to sort it self out. The first word it picked up aon as a reason to code my blog was "death" then it counted swear words and words of violence on the blog. I say the c-word twice on here.

Mister Anchovy, yes, that works to some degree except adults play video games too and buy censored music. People tend to like art and entertainment with amplified emotional states either producing them or reflecting them...and I think kids aren't so different than adults that way. But I think parents should play and listen to what their kids do...and be able to discuss...I don't think kids should do everything adults do. There's no reason a teenager has to see a David Lynch movie, or a porn movie, or read Cormac McCarthy...drink, do drugs or have sex. They can wait till they are adults to be initiated...that is if their parents weren't lazy...erp!

*, I don't mind people having popcorn and snakcks in theatres...but I wish they would eat quietly with manners because I don't want their munching to compete with all the moaning and gun shots in the movies I like to see.

Gardenia, it seems to scan for morbid content and swear words and slang. Your blog was ranked PG for parental guidance because you used the word "kill" once.
