Supergroup: Monsters Of Folk

This supergroup is made from some really wonderful wonderful bands like...Bright Eyes...Coner Oberst...My Morning Jacket

Some of the most well-known supergroups include: 1960s groups Cream, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Blind Faith; 1970s groups Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Humble Pie, Cactus and Bad Company; the 1980s & 1990s groups The Firm, Traveling Wilburys, Dokken, Asia, Power Station, and The Highwaymen; 2000s groups A Perfect Circle, Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, and Zwan.

Maybe the most famous supergroup ever is...the album "Super Session" with Al Kooper, Stephen Stills, Mike Bloomfeild...and earlier...the Million Dollar Quartet...

used to have Super Session on vinyl, and it was a pretty good but not great album. As I recall, it featured the delightful intro to a guitar sole, "Pick it, Wilson".

Yeah, Mister Anchovy, there was really only one song I liked on that album of "Super Session" and it was the one here "Season of the Witch". However many super groups I do love like Velvet Revolver and Audioslave. What do you think of Tim Kasher's accordion skills in Bright Eyes? Did you track down James Felice? What did you think of his accordion skills?

Four Dinners, those are amazing bands...the pop culture term "supergroup" refes to a band that is made up from other hugely popular bands. So like Audioslave is comprised of Rage Against The Machine with singer from Soundgarden. Not that The Jam and Sex Pistols aren't amazing super bands :)
