Sail Away With Me To Another World
Evacuation de familles sans logement à la Courneuve
This post is dedicated to all those people who choose destructiveness over loyalty and love...what a sad choice. I feel so bad for these women and the police treatment is shocking and disgusting.
People will choose "being right" over patience and compassion...These women stood up for their sense of justice and it is so frightening anyone would treat mothers with their babies this way...first by evicting them...and then dragging them on the streets...We seem to be at a place that if we say something or protest any kind of ethical issues we take the risk of being shut down. If we have a different opinion from each other...it's become an outrage or unacceptable. Why is it so hard for people to get along...?
As a remedy...as a song with a special sentimentality...here is a favourite cover song of mine by Feist and Constantines...a Canadian moment...with lyrics that seem to offer more than just a love song...but a bit of our deeper nature...more tolerant nature and loyal friendly nature. One of the reasons I like the interpretation of Feist and Constantines...is that Kenny and dolly it feels very much like a song for intimate lovers....where this newer version 25 years later feels like a song about friendship, neighbours, community, and spiritual. I wonder why do we believe we maybe we have to sail away to another world to be able to tolerate each other...
And original version...and Kenny and Dolly back in the early 80's...what a beautiful song and lyrics...
