A little sad music please...

Alun at Archeaoastronomy posted a graph about 20 Comments Wednesday. Um, seems his visitors that day dropped and that is challenging because two of us participating out of about 12-15 bloggers, linked him in our lists. Another blog I linked that day,Martin actually I posted my "20 Comments Wednesday" on Tuesday at noon, had only one more visitor per day, It was me!

I must be terrible at marketing, well I already knew that! So, I've got to try a little harder next week. But, Martin has a very cute post over there right now about shower mats! And...an awesome post about GOLD!

Go for it buddies!

I think it's too soon to tell whether or not this is a successful expereimnt. this is one of the first times someone has actually said how it went.

I think part of the trick is to go to other participants blogs and actually visit the blogs they highlight. But it is a huge commitment of time.

I have massive change in visitors that seems to combine Wednesdays and how much I post or visit other blogs. Again, this is a personal preference for what we feel like our blogs giving us, or how we like to interact with others. I don't I still think there is some value and some interest in this activity. And besides, can our fearless leader really stop already?

The one time I did 20 Comments Wednesday, I found that many of the (new) people whose blogs I commented on could not be bothered to either reply or (much less) visit my own blog and leave a comment there. That makes you wonder whether it's all worth it. It is very noble to encourage people who might be tempted to give up blogging to stick at it, but people need to learn a little blogging etiquette and reciprocate comments. Otherwise, who encourages me not to give it all up? Well, it's kind folks like Candy Minx and Pie and the others I've linked up with. But for every 10 people you contact, maybe only one or two bother to reply.

It's a strangely self-involved world... Everybody wants more traffic, but only a handful are prepared to put in a little effort and establish a two-way rapport.

I've not had time over the last two or three weeks, and we'll just have to see how it goes. Great idea, but the time commitment is big...

Candy, re the Skin project: You can see some of the other words here. Some are illustrated; others aren't. I would have been happy with any word, to be honest.

It's almost certainly an issue with the logging, rather than the link. The only measure of whether or not it's a success is whether you enjoy doing it. It's not a public service that you owe to the world.

It may catch on more if you made the target a little less arduous, like ten or even five? It is a very interesting idea.
