"The establishment came down with a constitutional package which they put to a national referendum. The package included distinct society status for Quebec and some other changes, including some that would just horrify you, putting universal Medicare in our constitution, and feminist rights, and a whole bunch of other things."
- Conservative leader Stephen Harper, then vice-president of the National Citizens Coalition, in a June 1997 Montreal meeting of the Council for National Policy, a right-wing American think tank.

Hmmm. I knew he was bad. But I had no idea that Harper was foaming at the mouth. That he was in cahoots with an American think tank really challenges Canadian sovereignty.
A rare example of one of those politicians whose every word reminds why why you will NEVER put an X by the names of their sympathisers...
Yes X-Dell...very good point...see you continue to give me nighmares! Visitors might think about visiting X-DElls blog...he does amamazing research and great posts. He has one for the pst while on the history of Charles Manson...I haven't slept a wink since readign it!
Crushed what is really important to me is that Harper has never ever once recanted this statement. Politicians work on the premise that the voting public only has a six month memory.
He has never said he has changed his values or mind on this. And right now...he is looking all cute in Cosby sweaters...his spin doctors are very clever. And the journalists just aren't calling him out.
What has happened to people? Are we all either cranks or pussies?
They're all morons!
Well, Bridget you won't get much of an argument from me!
