Candy Kicks Kawasaki's technocrati ass!

Well, okay, have barely cracked the 100,000 rank. But what I have done is with some sweet style. I thought it would be appropriate to hang my painting of capturing the soul of my opponent above the computer...seeing as he is famous for his computer connections that Guy Kawasaki. Should I try to sell this painting out there on ebay? Maybe one of Kawasaki's nerd friends at his blog will buy it. I've never tried selling anything on ebay before, it might have some entertainment value, no?

Okay, so on May 3rd...I signed up to Technorati's ranking system because I saw Guy Kawasaki saying he wanted to be in top ten. I figured I will try to beat him. My rank when I signed up on May 3rd was...1,192,043. Now I am 121,964. It's so funny, because Kawasaki's blog is rank # 33 now, he needs 3200 more sites to link to his blog. I don't think he's going to make it. Although he has an incredible 1445 people already having been to his blog this morning. Wow, is he popular.

It's amazing how many business blogs there are out there in blogland, and these business folks really like to read business blogs. Unless Kawasaki branches out to human interest and technology and business on his blog I don't think he'll make his goal of top ten...but having said that, his business groupies are fairly loyal.

I wonder, what is the market demand for a Guy Kawasaki portrait? There was a time when merchants and community leaders, would have a popularity of sorts with their portraints, in the High Renaisance period? Hmm...I suppose I should have looked into the value of such a portrait before I started it? Ah heck no, it's better to be free with one's content and just go with it, much more interesting. Having worked at commisioned paintings the work always becomes that, work. Choosing the content of art work is half the fun...? Now to see if the content of a Kawasaki portrait has any value in the world...

If you eBay the painting, please link to the auction from your site. I'd love to follow it.

Good idea Overworm, of course that means I'd have to know what I was doing. I was trying to fill out the form for ebay...but got frazzled. I figure with a glass of wine this evening and bit of hummus I should be able to concentrate. Thanks for encouraging me. I think I'm funny, but I can't tell if it is actually funny or not to have painted Mr. kawasaki's portrait.

I've made it a point to be unpopular. You've seen the result. Eclecticism is the secret. (Branding's evil twin.) Fragment and die. It works for me.

about blogs, I just got back from an interview with a publishing company..some of the tech guys want to find ways to make their web stite more interesting, they have blogs, but they are borrrrring business (or rather science)blogs. I think you're right, keep it original, keep it eclectic, keep it fun! Even for the business guys!

You are an artist. It is inevitable you are bonkers and so is your blog.

Candy, I have not even the slightest idea who Guy Kawasaki is, other than what I've read here. I know who you are, though (in a blogland kinda way), and that's good enough for me. Your site and your words and your pix are more important to me than his stuff, I'm sure. I'm not hating on him; I'm just telling you like it is.

But if you do decide to eBay your artwork, you MUST keep us posted, dude.

(Strictly off topic: we are going to read A la recherche du temps perdu in constantreader, with me origanising the reading schedule. I thought I'd mention it in case you were interested. Anyway, all this blogging must be bad for your health ...)

Most impressed with you, sugar.
I, on the other hand, am content with my (count 'em!) 32 views of my blog.
It's all self indulgence for me anyway.

Cheers to you!
oh, and hey, pleasure chattin' with you at the Globe the other eve!
