Cleopatra, R.I. P.

The movie is very long and has it's weaknesses but if you just let it roll the sets and costumes grow on you. But the queen is really the soul of the movie. I love watching Taylor in Cleopatra. I always get sucked in by her even though the movie is too slow.

Taylor in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof with Newman is one of the mostcompelling twosomes and shit disturbers in movies. When soany movie stars were blonde Taylor was so exotic with her black hair. Another face was The Only Game On Tpwn.

I loved Elizabeth Taylor - loved those two movies - she had to have been channeling the real thing - she was bigger than life

You know, I just realized this, but outside of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, I've never really seen Taylor act (seen Richard Burton many more times, but not her). In her later life, she seemed famous for being famous.

I don't mean that as a knock on her, but rather on the nature of celebrity itself. Obviously, when anyone dies there is a sense of loss, at least for someone.
