Bruno Plays Accordion-Thank You Werner Herzog-The Greatest!
Really...one of my all time favourite directors and one of my favourite movies of his...but can you really pick a favourite Herzog film? And Herzog just seems to be getting more and more interesting in the last few years...
Herzog. When he hits the mark it's just incredible, but I find so many of his films to be hollow in the end (particularly his films with Kinski, which I find universally terrible). Films like Fitzcarraldo have nice images, but they have no real meaning--neither to me nor to Herzog himself, who admitted as such in some interviews later. In think in most ways Herzog is best as a documentary filmmaker. That film Lessons from Darkness is a masterpiece of--what?--science fiction / documentary / social commentary? Whatever it is, it KILLS.

I like his singing style. It's half-way between talking and singing...
