I love the actor John Hawkes and he gave a terrific downtoearth interview..here at ESQUIRE
. He mentions a friends band
I don't mean to seem ungrateful. My buddy Foster Timms, great songwriter back in L.A., has a song that goes, "Celebrities up in the hills live high on the hog, ticket buyers pay their bills and gape at them in awe.... [Warbles] Dadadada... they complain they got it rough, boo-fuckin'-hoo it must be tough. Save that shit for your shrink or your next movie, don't tell us about the pain, show us the baby." I don't wanna be one of those people in my buddy Foster's song. I couldn't find the video online but heres a good one...

Some Things
Ha ha love...
Here is my dream bedroom...also LOVE
Sometimes I grab a beer and a lovely bowl of soup here at The Berghoff
. Apparently it's Chicago's oldest restaurant which I find astounding. They made beer for the Cicago World's Fair and still make beer. They do not have Wifi which I find rather annoying. But it's still an okay place to switch it up and write.
I still am laughing at this facebook photo passed around. Not the bug, the idea of talking to Evolution like a person makes me break down laughing, I love this.
Sometimes this sculpture disappears but on this occassion it was bold.
Oh look aren't mini vegetables so adorable? These are mini-zucini and delicious. Of course they are more expensive than regular sized zucini which does't make sense...they're smaller shouldn't they be cheaper? We dipped them in hummous.
Here is Robert one of my co-workers at Old Town School Of Folk Music. He is a producer and we work often on weekends. He takes care of the bands. I like his t-shirt. "Old time music is the new punk rock".

I think this graffiti is so gorgeous I could stare at it all day.

Cupcake ATM
Last night after bartending my co-worker Tina and I went on an adventure to a cupcake ATM. YUM!!!! That is us double parked down near the Viagra Triangle.
There goes Tina ordering up a cupcake...I'm watching and learning...
You get a little photo menu to selct from describing each cupcake available. I chose Praline.Yes...it really is called the Cupcake ATM.
Once you selct you watch a little film of the auto-mat get your cupcake and then...put it into a little cupboard...the cupcakes are delicious! You can taste the fresh butter and the cake is even more dleicious than the butter cream icing!
Neighbourhood Redux 3
Here on Roosevelt is a great little area. It's an hour walk from our place...s I really call it the most practical place for us to go for Trader Joe's and other groceries. This pic above is taken from the Jewel grocery store parking lot and you can see Trader Joe's across the street. There's Starbucks too if you need to use Wifi.
Doesn't it feel like a little town? It's actually a very busy area...which used to be terribly rough several years ago. It's a very busy part of town and fighting to have people live and enjoy life right there. The Trader Joe's only opened up just a year and a half ago there. It's a very nice outlet with some different linds of displays. I love visiting dofferent TJs. Um, and we;ll pretend the Jewel where I'm taking the picture below didn't have a robbery
there last week, okay?
I thought this product of a tie for the coffee bag and a scoop "in one" was a great idea. I wish it was more attractive looking though. In cool colours or something.

Fun Interview
This is a great example of why he would be someone I would put on my imaginary fantasy "dinner with" list. He's wonderful!

Symbolic Buddy Friend
I love Russel Brand. I'm like a demented fan in that I feel like I know him. I'm so creepy right? I absolutely loved this book which I tore through recently. I also enjoy his tv show Brand X. And since reading his bio booky woook...I watched some videos of his old tv show from 2002. Here is an episde where he brings a homeless guy ( afellow heroin user pal of his) to live with him and gives him a bath in part 2. It's brilliant really, and you can see what a ind soul is buried deep in Brand. In his book though...we see he was an absolute asshole and he's quite hinest about being a jerk to friends, people his girlfriends...but it sounds like he might have come out the other side and learned a few things and got humble. I think he makes the world a better place. Oh by the way...my sister loves him too...must be a family thing.

Neighbourhood Redux 2
Okay actually...this is not exactly photos from our neighbourhood. Above and below is a snowy cemetary...but it's in my travels around day to day.
This is where I've been sitting to take notes on a new script I'm writing. This script has about female characters...and will have a traditional story frame. You know like a more or less proper beginning and ending. Below are some of the cards I usually use to begin building characters. I also use yellow lined writing pads. And poster board. And regular foolscap and a program on my phone for script writing called Celtx.
I was taking a picture...which I shall post tomorrow and then I noticed the building I was standing against was city hall. I went inside and saw a cop and asked "Is this really city hall?" Yes...it is...
Old and new.

More Neighbourhood Pics
Okay...above is not the neighbourhood...it's a shot where I pretend that Daniel Craig is the character "Travis McGee"
. I took it from Skyfall but he would make a great Travis McGee Love this grafitti and the tag name "fancy clown"
What a beautiful little store...haven't seen it open yet but what a brilliant neon sign!
This is an all night joint at 18th and Halsted. Very handy...when it's freezing cold out you can just warm up ordering some sandwiches at the window. This place has been open 2 years and I always see people pull up in taxi's or cars to get something to eat.
