The Atlantic Monthly has an article asking the question Is Google Making Us Stupid?
I don't think it is, actually, I think it might be a key to world peace.
All the arguments, urban myths and disagreements are often eased by being able to surf the net...what do you think?

I don't think Google is making us stupid. What I do think is that surfing the net, playing video games, watching television, or any other addiction, diminishes our social skills. We don't talk to each other like we should, it seems simpler to let our fingers talk for us. Email...I haven't hand written a letter in years because of it...but I digress.
i'm a big fan of google.
and i think people write a lot more than they used to because of email: may not be formal letters, but its still a form of written expression.
btw
i'd love to meet for coffee. what day/time were you thinking?
Pjazzypar, I don't think it makes us stupid either. i think the internets value rises when we know what topic or research we are interested in.
Minerva, great news! How about Thursday( July 31) lunch or afternoon?
As long as we don't stop on one website only when we are researching, we will not be stupid, but smarter!!! How could we get more stupid - when the world's information is within a few seconds of pushing a key on the keyboard!
