I just knew I was gonna get a job. I knew exactly where to go...I was pulled...I could feel I had to go to this one place I was haunting...
And when I got there just for my own recreation to read and have a latte...the woman hired me.
Yipppeee...I'm working a bar position part-time with great hours, super nice people, like family...and I get to make cappuccinos (which I love making) and talk with people!!!!! Since it's part-time I can get another job too..and help with busking. Whoohoo! Two jobs baby that's the way to roll.
On the weekend, I had the hunch. I got some new sneaks for my future job..and some new pants and t-shirts...something I NEVER do...but I knew I had to be ready. Preparation. Experience. Opportunity. Right? Even my Green Card looked shinier this morning...it's done it's own job!
(listen...I am always busy and I've been doing volunteer work here in Chicago... but for those who know me, lets face it, I'm your classic textbook stylistically posing slacker-Church of the Subgenius ....have you ever thought you would hear me be happy to have a job?) Har!

Congratulations! I LOVE having a job. I tell people I work for my hair, clothes, gym etc but really it's because I love being around people.
You are the bomb, mama!
cool! where is it at?
So glad for you that you are enjoying the job - sounds as if it were "meant to be!" I've become a believer that things/people/jobs/etc., are bought to us and we have them for a season, until its time for something else!
There is a certain joy in not working - lots of freedom - I have had very few times when I was not working 40 plus, day in and dreary day out .....I never take this freedom for granted! Once in a great while, though - I think perhaps I would like to work - but never with the ball and chain on of yore!
So, in the meantime, have fun! You'll have some new adventures, no doubt.
Great news Candy, It sounds fated for you to have got it. Now go rock the joint!
Thanks guys! I forgot to mention it's in our neighbourhood so easy to get to as well...
congrats!
Candy there is one thing about volunteering and then there is something about having a job you get paid to do.. So there is a difference and a good difference... I hope you like it... Congrats...
HooooooRaaaaaay Candy!

Tweetey...yes youre right...it is MUCH more important that we volunteer than have a job. Money is the easy part of life...giving is our true calling!
Andy...whoo hooe hoo ray is right! Next round is on me!
My father used to say, "son, rich or poor, it's nice to have money"...I hope the job works out well for you!
