I've heard on the radio there's a bribery scandal going on around the Golden Globe Awards. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised, since there's a lot of potential dough generated from the publicity shows like this provide for films.
The entertainment industry feeds off scandal very well though, so this should be no big deal in the scheme of things.
I haven't seen Boardwalk Empire yet, but I think Steve Buscemi is a terrific actor so I bet it's pretty good.
Wouldn't t that be funny if a tv show about scandal and bribery was bribing the HFPA! It looks like the scandal from last night is whether Ricky Gervais went too far with his jokes. As Stagg would say how typical of the U.S. to be outraged about. comments and jokes. We thought Gervais was really funny. And I wishes he had even more time on the show.
Gervais is so funny. After the awardfs show i saw an interview with Al Pacino and someone asked him if Gervais went too far and he was like,...in this situation he should not censor himself. A few other celebrities were saying the sae thing that the evening offers a kind of roast environment.
I was sorry to see Robert Downey Jr. seem to take umbrage with the jokes.
On a different note and to be chalked up to irony...several times when people were announcing things the camera turned on Christian Bale and he was talking!!! I was laughing so much because he of course went nuts when someone made a noise on set when he was talking.
